Two Sides of the Same Coin... Heads-Heads
SIBEL EDMONDS: Two Sides of the Same Coin... Heads-Heads
"In
politics we presume that everyone who knows how to get votes knows how
to administer a city or a state. When we are ill...we do not ask for
the handsomest physician, or the most eloquent one." -- Plato

White House Czar Calls for End to 'War on Drugs'
at least goodbye to the "bellicose metaphor"Hopefully some less-un-enlightened policy might be in our future.
heck, we recently saw this headline:
Arnold Schwarzenegger: it's high time to review marijuana law
Its stupid, corrupting, unjust, costly, and sadistic to put peaceful people in prison. perhaps this has gone on so long
because so many people that seem to be referred to as Christians, support torture

continued delay of the seating of Senator Al Franken
Time for SCOTUS or POTUS to seat Al Franken?
What Digby says:
$250,000 or $5 million is a small price to pay for the Big Money Boyz to keep workers from forming unions. And in addition to gumming up the works for months upon months, they get to delegitmize the electoral process, as well as Al Franken's claim to the seat. It's a really nice investment for them. Better than anything in the stock market these days.

remember the “up-or-down vote”?
Now the villagers have changed their mind...
Tonight Barbra Boxer, among others, repeat the:
everybody knows/do the math/
must have 60 votes to pass the senate.
Can't have real obstructionist senators actually speak, that would be uncivil or something

Gupta’s qualifications. But I do remember his mugging of Michael Moore over Sicko. You don’t have to like Moore or his film; but Gupta specifically claimed that Moore “fudged his facts”, when the truth was that on every one of the allegedly fudged facts, Moore was actually right and CNN was wrong.
What bothered me about the incident was that it was what Digby would call Village behavior: Moore is an outsider, he’s uncouth, so he gets smeared as unreliable even though he actually got it right. It’s sort of a minor-league version of the way people who pointed out in real time that Bush was misleading us into war are to this day considered less “serious” than people who waited until it was fashionable to reach that conclusion.
